  • TEG: Tobacco Education Program: Tobacco prevention education program for youth currently using tobacco; provides youth with the encouragement and motivation to consider quitting. the Probation Department and schools utilize TEG as a diversion program for youth who have been caught at school or in the community using tobacco.
  • Community Mini-Grant Program: Local Offender Fees are allocated in part to community-based prevention, intervention and criminal justice projects. Mini-grant applications are available from Montgomery County Youth Service Bureau in March and funding is available July to June.
  • Community Outreach: Printed materials are available upon request for local businesses and community events.
  • Red Ribbon Week Community Leaders Breakfast: The Drug Free Montgomery County Coalition, in cooperation with agencies, service providers, faith-based Coalitions and local government host the Community Leaders Breakfast to kick off Red Ribbon Week.
  • Focus Committees: The Coalition will facilitate the formation of focus committees to address current issues and break the work into smaller areas of focus. Each Committee will have a chair responsible for reporting to the Coalition Board.

Drug Free Montgomery County continually identifies stakeholders of distinct substance abuse issues, invites them to work together to define the problem, identify contributing factors, and create solution paths with ways to measure success.

The mission of the Drug Free Montgomery County Coalition is to serve as a vehicle for bringing together a cross-section of the community in a countywide effort to address alcohol, tobacco, and other drug (ATOD) issues using multiple strategies across multiple sectors.

Originating as the Local Coordinating Council for the Governor's Commission for a Drug-Free Indiana, membership in Drug Free Montgomery County is a diverse committed volunteer group representing every sector of our community. this group created and now help guide the LCC toward achieving significant outcomes related to substance abuse prevention, intervention and enforcement.

Coalition members meet bi-monthly to help steer the LCC toward building successful partnerships throughout the community. An executive board selected from the coalition membership provides leadership and guidance for the Coalition.
