I have worked at the Youth Service Bureau for 18 years with my personal goal being to help
families build on their strengths either through counseling, home visiting and for the past
9 years as a Program Manager/ Supervisor for the Healthy Families program. The goal of
the Healthy Families Program is to promote positive parenting and offer supportive
services that will encourage healthy development and growth for children. We do this with
weekly home visits where we provide parenting information and activities to promote
positive parent/child interaction and information about child development. We also make
referrals to local community agencies when we see a need within a family that cannot be
met by our program. Part of the Youth Service Bureau's mission is to help children
become productive citizens through community education and referral services which is a
major part of what the we do through the Healthy Families Program.
